Who: Kindergarten through 8th Grade Soccer Players - Limited spots open in certain categories - No registrations automatically confirmed/charges made after 3/21/13. There is an online Wait list for 1st & 2nd grade boys & girls.

What: Spring is the time for indoor futsal at WUSC. Games will be played at the Tualatin Indoor Soccer Center 15 minutes from Wilsonville and West Linn. The field is the size of an ice hockey rink and has small goals built into the end walls. The field is made of astro-turf and is surrounded by plexi-glass and fiberglass walls.

Futsal is a 5v5 version of soccer that's played on basketball-sized courts, without the use of the sidewalls. Substitutions are made on the fly and the game emphasizes ball possession and ball handling, due to the fact that each player gets at least 80 touches on the ball per game. The short pass and team work is heavily emphasized. Futsal dates back to the 1930s and is played worldwide at every level.

The following is a summary of the program formats planned for the spring 2013 season: All players need to wear shinguards and either indoor cleats or regular athletic shoes.

Futsal Academy - Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade Boys and Girls- $100 Fee
This is an academy style program that includes a skills' session taught by Willamette United staff coaches one day a week followed by Saturday games. A staff coach will supervise Saturday games, but parent coaches are needed. Players should bring a #3 soccer ball to each skills' session. Shinguards are required and must be covered with soccer socks.

Monday - 3/11 **Only Monday session - all others are on Tuesdays
Tuesdays - 4/2, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7 and 5/14
Training session times for Kindergarteners only - 4:00 - 4:45 p.m.
Training session times for 1st Graders only - 4:45 - 5:30 p.m
Training session times for 2nd graders only - 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.

Game dates - Saturdays - 3/16, 4/6, 4/13, 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11 and 5/18

Spring Futsal for 3rd - 8th Grade Players- $75 Fee
Futsal games will be played on Saturdays and/or Sundays and possibly some week-days. The schedule is largely determined by the number of teams from other soccer clubs that register independently with Tualatin Indoor. There will not be any weekly practices. The game format will be 5v5, with a goal keeper. Teams may be of combined grade levels, i.e. 3rd & 4th; 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th. Teams will be gender specific and will have 8 - 9 players. Parent coaches are needed and online registration iis open. All players must wear shinguards covered with soccer socks. Indoor cleats or regular athletic shoes are acceptable.

Games will begin the week-end of March 16th and end before Memorial Day. No games will be played on the week-ends surrounding spring break, March 22 - 31, 2013.
